Martha E. Chavez has 20 years of experience in community organizing, development, policy analysis, and social science research. She has led and supported research projects in education, workforce development, immigration, and public health, using strong data analysis skills and a focus on social impact. Martha combines qualitative and quantitative methods to support evidence-based decision-making, strong growth, and continued work toward fair outcomes.

Throughout her career, Martha has advised public agencies, nonprofits, and private sector partners on research and policy strategy. At Arroyo Research Services, she supported education programs nationwide by providing data insights and training. She has worked as an organizer, advocate, and analyst for groups focused on immigrant rights, labor, and education. Martha has held research positions at Texas Tech University Health Science Center OB/GYN, the New York Academy of Medicine, Class Size Matters, the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice in New York, the Center for Court Innovation, Service Employees International Union 32BJ, and Safe Horizon. At the City University of New York, she researched topics like the demographics of Occupy Wall Street and Hurricane Sandy relief efforts by low-wage workers, managing research design and implementation, data analysis, and policy recommendations. She also coordinated advocacy for New Immigrant Community Empowerment in New York and documented human rights for the Border Network for Human Rights in El Paso. Martha holds a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on research analysis and evaluation from Baruch College Marxe School of Public and International Affairs in New York City, and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Martha enjoys staying active and has a passion for art. She likes spending time outdoors, hiking, and camping. She also runs, swims, and recently started biking. When she can, she paints with acrylics, her favorite medium.
